History of Kalsubai Peak: Mount Kalsubai (5,400 ft) of the Sahyadri Range located in Bhandardara is the highest peak in Maharashtra. The mountain peak was used during the Maratha period to keep a watch on the enemies. The Kalsubai Temple is known for the old well in its backyard. Every year a religious fair is organised by the locals at the temple in the month of October and November. The top of Mount Kalsubai gives a panoramic view of the Bhandardara Lake.
